Madame: Tak i lige måde!
Knus :-)
Hi there. I found your website whilst looking for pictures of Hollymount on Google. I am staying at Hollymount next week and I am really looking forward to it. I didn't know you live abroad? How many times a year do you get to come back to Hollymount? Must be lovely to return. Thank you for providing such a gorgeous property for holiday use. I cannot wait to stay. Nick
Nick: Hello; how funny that you found me. As you can see from my blog, Hollymount is a very speciel place, and we're staying as much as we can (when the house is not rented out, that is). We ourselves rented the house for 10 years, before we bought it -so we really love it to bits... I hope you will too... :-)
Thank you. We are both really looking forward to staying here. You are very lucky to have this property. I have stayed before.. many years ago (October 1997) I was only a young boy then and have always been desperate to return so it will be lovely to return. I was really pleased to find your blog, I will keep an eye on the hollymount blog sometimes to see updates. Nick
Nick: Then you must remember Dinky - the horse? I think we started renting Hollymount in '97, and he was there at the time. But now there are only sheep on the fields, and Dinky was moved to a retirement home for horses... ;-)
You probably won't find that much have changed - except the conservatory which was put in in 2000. We like to keep it the way it has always been, but now there are wood burning stoves in the inglenooks for practical reasons.
You are very welcome to keep an eye on my Hollymount-blog; I will undoubtedly bring pictures from time to time - also of the animals that share the house and grounds with us… ;-) Mia
Oh yes I remember Dinky. My sister loved the horse. What a real shame that Dinky has gone now, however I am not surprised as it was well over 10 years ago.
I have to say it must be wonderful for you both to be able come to Hollymount whenever you like (within reason) However it sounds rather complicated to me.
For example how do you pick the right time to stay, because you
might decide to come to Hollymount on a certain date that it is available then find the day before you leave for England that someone
has booked it. I take it you have to book with the holiday agents to stay in your own house?
Excluding all that though I do admire the way you can come here
and get away from it all. England is a lovely place to live, and there are some lovely places in this country like Hollymount.
Nick
Nick: Yes, you're right; we have to book our own house. But we can always book a couple of weeks ahead, so it's not really a problem. Luckily we can take our work with us; in that way we are rather flexible.
England is indeed a wonderful place, and we have been travelling in UK for 25 years or more. As you may have noticed on my blog, I also write a magazine (ANGLOFILIA) about England and all things English (well, British... ;-))
Well that isn't too bad then. I certainly did notice your Anglofilia page, sounds wonderful what you do.
I will message again after my visit to let you know how I got on. If you like I could get some photos of Hollymount your way as well. England is of course lovely at this time of year :D Nick
Nick: Yes, please do. Pictures are very welcome, but please send to my e-mail: miafolkmann@hotmail.com
I may not notice comments on these older entries on the blog...
I hope you will have a wonderful time in Hollymount. Please say hello from me... :-)
